Outpatient Knee and Hip Replacement Surgery

Joint replacement surgery performed in an outpatient facility, not in a hospital, has become much more common. Traditionally performed as inpatient procedures, total hip replacement, total knee replacement, and partial knee replacement can now be performed on an outpatient basis. This allows patients to go home the same day of surgery. Depending on several factors, you may be a candidate to have your total hip or total knee replacement performed in an outpatient facility.
